Hello Whirled

WELCOME TO THE PONY CLUB

released APRIL 12, 2017
ALBUM 4, RELEASE 12

The first of 2 albums I put out in April 2017. Nowadays I would never imagine doing something like that, but my process is also very different. This album actually had a few outtakes, but they ended up on YouTube because I still upheld my "2 EPs then an album" approach. The next "cycle" broke this pattern but I still didn't put the outtakes on Bandcamp. That's not important, though. "13 Dot Kolam" was a phrase I found reverse-image-searching the HW logo once. The song's pretty solid. "World's Greatest Parking Garage" and "Land Where Everybody Flies" are a package deal. They always go together. "So Have Your Fun" was previously called "Color Guarded". I think that version is on YouTube somewhere. "Express Land Bridge" was one of a few songs that I had written for an intended swansong EP for my high school band, but this was the only one (I think) that made the album. There was one called "Sing At Vampire Speed" that has 2 recordings on YouTube but I don't even think either of them made it onto Suitcase 5. "Giving In To Suggestion" would have been truly great if I'd mixed the vocals loud even a little, but I still like it. In fact, I think this is the earliest Hello Whirled album where I still like every song. Should I write more? I don't know. I made this album 9 years ago. It's good. It didn't take long to make. The next album took even less time.
