Wire were the last band I saw perform before COVID shut everything down. I was listening to them a LOT around this time (and would continue to, even now) so I thought I'd take a stab at covering some of their songs. I decided to tackle 5 songs from each era of Wire, because I like all eras of Wire and I don't think any other Wire covers album really has that good of a spread...actually Whore covers a lot of ground but I didn't listen to that until this year. My favorite recordings on here are mostly my covers of Wire's 80s songs. I really like that era of Wire and I don't think those songs always get the credit they deserve. "Madman's Honey" is my favorite Wire song and even the authorized Read and Burn biography spends a whole paragraph bashing that song. Given that I didn't write these songs, and recorded them fairly quickly without checking to make sure I was even playing them correctly, I don't have a whole lot to say about this one.
