From a show I booked with The Quill Pen Gallery (ponytail, front row), Sapwood, and Kleenex Girl Wonder (flower shirt, next to title). Notably, QPG is now called Noether. They brought their friend Tommy to the show. Almost a year later, Tommy would join HW's live band as a bassist, and almost a year after that, Tommy would rejoin for the long run. Jason from Sapwood also ended up playing drums in HW for a bit, alongside Tommy. Graham Smith has never played in Hello Whirled. The show was at the legendary Kitchenette, and this was the 1 and only time I went there (and it was to play). They recorded the set, so that's why it sounds so good. Considering the lack of acoustic guitars on 50 Songs, this is a neat little AU kind of thing. The plan was to only play new stuff, but the crowd was so into it that I threw in "Process" at the end. I don't remember exactly who's hitting the floor on that one, so I can't accurately give out instrument credits, but I'm pretty sure Edweirdo and Jared from Noether were among them. I know Parker's in the front row without the baseball hat. There's a good argument to be made that this is the best HW live album. Oh, here's a fun fact: more than half of 50 Songs got performed at least once. In fact, almost half the album got played live at least twice. That's pretty good!
