REQUIEM FOR A SCENE
released MARCH 10, 2023
RELEASE 126
Performed and recorded on December 1, 2022, and finally released to coincide with the release of my concert film of the same name. It featured Hello Whirled and 2 other bands. There's some lore here but truth be told I still talk to no more than 3 other people featured in the doc so I don't especially want to talk about it more. It's in the description of the Bandcamp page if you really want to watch it. Some cool facts about this live album follow: It's a soundboard mix! We don't have a lot of those. My guitar is on the right. The "(intro)" comes courtesy of my identical twin Dan. Before our set, I dropped my Yamaha SA500 and damaged it. It still played fine but the input jack was kinda gnarly after this. I used to really love that guitar. I still do, even though I don't have it anymore. This was effectively the retirement of "Please Stop Dancing" from HW live performance. I brought it back for an all-requests show in late 2024 but other than that it has stayed banished. The tour we mentioned going on got postponed, and even then we only ended up doing 1 show. The best part is when our bassist shouted "I came an hour out on a fucking school night for this!" which was fair because we did this show on a Thursday. I don't remember why.
