Some outtakes from You Are Not Immune To Trends. I put out 3 EPs worth of outtakes from that album in July, and this was the first one. "Jump" sounded like a hit to me, so I made it track 1 of that album when I re-recorded it. I think I did it a second time because I'd felt the 16th-note hi-hats were too sloppy on this version. Mainly, I'm reminded that my usual guitar amp was acting really fussy during this album cycle, so I recorded a lot of guitars with my bass amp, which (as you can hear on this song and many others) didn't always sound so good. I bought a tube amp after I finished the album, which I'm currently resting my foot on. It's heavy, but I also love how it sounds. "Uncanny Eyes" was supposed to sound like Beat Happening, a band I liked for a few seconds back then. If there's anything of value on this EP, it's this song. I don't regret it missing the cut, but I do like as an EP track.
