RELEASE 101
Two things can be true. This show marked a turning point in HW as a live act, in that I performed in front of complete and total strangers who had nice things to say about it afterwards. One person was specifically blown away by how fast I strummed. This show was also a big mess. You can hear it in the soundboard recording. I lost the beat a number of times and flubbed a bunch of lyrics. "Datura" and "Diptych", if memory serves, gave me awful trouble and I had to start them over several times. Anyone who's seen me live in the last few years will know that, when I play solo, I always have some sort of "click track" present. Sometimes I just play a metronome into my headphones, but I prefer having a drum machine set up. For someone who makes a ton of music, I'm pretty bad at actually keeping beat on guitar. The weird thing about this release is that it's a little load-bearing. Without this coming out right before History Worth Repeating, "Thousand" isn't actually the 1000th HW song.
