My last stab at making something with my Yamaha MT8X, which I sold not too long after making this. As you can hear on the recordings, the belts were messed up and would change speed randomly. I couldn't control it, so rather than fight it, I gave up. These weren't the only recordings I made in this first attempt to record album 46, but they were definitely the best ones. 3 of them ended up on the actual album 46, and the other ended up on album 47. "Fate Fades In And Out" got some new lyrics, but the arrangement stayed intact. "The Ploy in the Plastic" turned into "A True Arc" with completely new lyrics. The drum pattern is from a video making fun of Lars Ulrich for being a bad drummer. He is, but this beat seemed like it could work in a different context. "Red Water Part Two" was significantly re-arranged when it made the leap to my DAW. I think, of the 4 songs on this EP, it took the biggest hit in the transition to digital recording. I might actually prefer this version to the final album version. "Please Stop Asking" crushes it here. It also crushes it on the album it landed on. It's just beautiful. It's missing a few words that the album version has, but overall this might be the least changed between EP and album.
